The Tisbury Barn House project brief was to design a house that was healthy and efficient to exceed the current NZ building code.

Prefabricated panel construction was selected for its quality, accuracy and to reduce on site construction time. Internal and external walls are fabricated in a local Christchurch factory along with mid floor and roof panels. A grey water collection system, wool insulation, solar panels, thermal suit joinery and internal services cavity construction all play an important part in this home

The house is situated on a hill site with North West facing aspect and unrestricted views over the Canterbury planes to the Southern Alps. The beautiful vertical shiplap cladding paired with vertical profile metal and glazing provide this house a connection to its surroundings from both inside and out.

The project is to be completed in two stages, with the Garage and loft unit being consented first, allowing the owners to occupy the unit whilst the main house was being constructed.

Construction on this home is due to start soon so check back to see more photos of the finished result later in the year.
